Ashley and Mike part 3

After Introductions of the bridal party, the guests enter the 40x80 pole tents surrounded with twinkle lights. The guest tables were covered in twill fabric and had natural bamboo runners while the head table was covered in green burlap and topped with classic eyelet linens. Twine candlabras, rustic lanterns, over 100 vases of mums atop green river rocks, and custom wine bottles with table numbers sat on the various sized and shaped
guest tables. The dinner buffet of tenderloin, salmon and bbq was enjoyed as classic Beatles and Billy Joel tunes filled the the tent. They were then treated to a vintage photo booth and treated to cake pops and gourmet cookies. Three different flavored cakes were offered as everyone danced the night away. As a special thank you to their guests, favors of mini succulents in painted pots were given out so everyone could remember this special day.
We are so happy that Eastern Shore Events could help make your dream come true and wish the two of you the best:)

Ashley and Mike part 2

While the wedding party took photos, 140 guests enjoyed cocktails in mason jars adorned with mini chalkboard name plates, yellow and gray striped paper straws and yard games. Passed hors d'oeuvres including mini Kobe beef sliders filled the garden as guest enjoyed the cigar bar and signed their guest book with finger prints and loving messages. Burlap covered the tables decorated with succulents and candles while escort hung on a vine line. Florals by Visual Presentations filled the entire park and included unique flowers and avocados.

Ashley and Mike

What a great weekend I am honored that this wonderful couple entrusted their joyous day to Eastern Shore Events. They wanted a casual rustic fall wedding. All Ashley wanted was to get married in front of a barn door, so we chose the historical Hendry house in Falls Church, Virginia. With a lovely park setting, we created what she had dreamed about.
We hung a turn of the century barn door and a vintage lantern on the arbor and filled the sides with trees and shrubs to create the perfect ceremony site. A classic wrought iron table sat by the arbor for the traditional family wine exchange. After seating the bride and groom's parents... Groomsmen dressed in linen pants, vests, soft green shirts and custom made yellow ties escorted the bridesmaids in their various styles of yellow and grey dresses down the aisle of natural woo chairs. The Bride was escorted by her father and joined her wedding paty at the alter... Readings by their friends made this ceremony very intimate and endearing. During the recessional, the bride and groom were showered with yellow and white rose petals.

Shutters

Just finished painting 6 full length shutters white these will be great for covering unsightly room decor that my brides encounter:) they also double for great escort card holders. I hope these shutters will be helpful for my brides, next on the agenda is painting that great side piece. I look forward to sanding all of this down and bringing out the shabby side. I have also acquired a ton of benches, vases and tent decor. I can't wait to use all of these items. Sooo much fun. Maybe not painting but the final affect is worth it!

Dresses

Just finished dress shopping with a bride. We went to Bustle in Berlin. I highly recommend them. They carry a nice small collection that the bride can choose from. I loved it because when you have a million to choose from, the bride tends to get overwhelmed. What a wonderful day and my bride choose the most gorgeous gown:)

KRM

After an eleven year courtship, this bride and groom married on the most perfect day in June. Ceremony on the beach, cocktail on the bay and dinner and dancing all night long. They won my heart and I hope a friendship that last as many years as possible. Cheers to Kim and Mike as they start their life together and thank you for including me in this special wedding.

The getaway

This group enjoyed this reception do much that leaving was not easily accepted:) as the guests lit 36 inch sparklers, Kim and mike left in a 1955 yellow restored Chevrolet station wagon topped with wooden surfboards.

Kimmie and Mike

After dinner, an amazing sweet table offered the guests gourmet chocolates, mr and mrs Reilly cookies, mini cakes and tarts and cake pops. The also enjoyed late night pizza from grottos... A beach favorite. Cake art created Kim's dream cake and it offered guests red velvet, chocolate with peanut butter cream and raspberry almond.

After cocktails, guests entered the club to amazing florals by visual presentation of dc. The two tiered escort cards were presented on custom etched beer bottles of Mikes personal brew. Guests then entered the ballroom to beautiful designed tales with menu cards and orchids. Following a dinner of fillet, the guests danced to the jimmy smooth band from dc.

Kimmie and Mike

Waiting at the end if the boardwalk for the guests were three jolly trolleys filled with coolers of beer and water to take them to the Rehoboth beach country club. The bridal party entered a stretch Lincoln navigator and took pictures at the rehoboth boardwalk and at fun land. The guests were then greeted with pomegranate martinis as they entered the tent on the bay for cocktails. Passed hors doeurves filled the tent while guests enjoyed an open bar while beach music played.

The bride walked down the aisle in purple "blinged" out flip flops with her father to "somewhere over the rainbow" and met her groom in a linen suit. The ceremony was filled with readings by close friends dedicated to their parents. Chosen to celebrate their love and respect for their parents, friends read song lyrics by van Morrison and Peter Gabriel. The parents were then presented with a framed picture of their respective reading. As the bride and groom were pronounced mr. And mrs. Michael Reilly, Handels "alleluia" filled the beach and guests applauded to the appropriate choice of recessional.

"go to girl"

I have decided the best thing about my job is making it happen. I love when my bride looks at me three days before the wedding and says "can we add..."! I pull out my trusty book of "go to" vendors that will make it happen. Yes, I still have a book... But I am slowly warming to technology:) The best is when a groom calls me and my product "sick"! I assume that's good and is the 2012 way of saying "awesome". Cheers to another great day in the wedding world!

Maps

I have been in the wedding industry for 17 years and never created a map for our guests. In my opinion, hiring a professional that specializes in services That I am not familiar with is the best solution. But with the new software available and the help of wine, I have determined I can conquer my fear of PowerPoint and other essential programs. I designed and created my first map for a bride this weekend. Now I can offer my brides more services and have a reasonable explanation of the bill at the liquor store:)

Today's taste testing

As a wedding planner for over 15 years, I do not surprise easily. I have either seen it, done it or heard it! But today I did have my socks knocked off. During a taste testing with a client, my caterer said "I just want to show you something a little crazy...". She brought shot glasses filled with homemade chocolate chip Cooke dough and graham crackers. They were so cute and fabulous. Kudos to Food by Design for "wowing" me and giving me a treat to look forward to in a few months:)

My Bride

Love my job... Last night I sat with my bride and groom and her parents for over 4 hours. I watched them fuss, laugh, love and enjoy some cocktails. Believe it or not, I like to bond with the family and know that friendships will last longer than contracts do:). Btw. It was a super productive meeting....

Spray tan

I think it is very important that I am able to refer my clients to quality vendors. Some times I try new products and things just so I know whether or not they can meet my standards. This week I did just this. My bride was interested in a spray tan. I have never tried one but felt it was important for me to have knowledge and first hand experience..... I have to say, I love it! It cannot compete with the actual beach days and cocktails but I am very happy with the results! Thanks to Fusion spa in Rehoboth for fitting us in:)

About Me!

Hi my name is Deborah Wayland and I am the founder and owner of Eastern Shore Events! I have been in the Event Coordinating industry since 1993. My passion for the industry began while I was working as the Director of Catering for a high end catering company out of Richmond Virginia. As the Director of Catering I gained the experience and knowledge to start by own business, Professional Event Coordination . In Virginia, I had the privilege and honor of working with some amazing vendors and client. My clients ranged from the Governor of Virginia, Corporation to countless brides and grooms.
I will always love Richmond, and my clients there, but in 2008 Delaware's Eastern Shore became my home. My family and I relocated due to my husband's job. I have observed the Eastern Shore has a unique draw for weddings and events from the surrounding cities and states. Over the last couple of years I have been building relationship with accredited  local vendors and community members. I now own Eastern Shore Events, an event and wedding coordinating company, based out of Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Along with my experience I bring a touch of my Southern Charm to the Eastern Shore! I started this blog to keep my clients and prospective clients, in touch with me and our amazing community!
